Homeowners Insurance Coverage B- Other StructuresLast modified: February 9, 2013
Your coverage B- Other structures is part of your homeowners policy that covers property not attached to you home, or primary dwelling. Examples of coverage B of your homeowners policy include fence, detached garage, gazebo, barn, garage, or a shed. The amount of coverage applied to your policy under coverage B is calculated from your coverage A. It is 10% of the value of your dwelling. For example if your home is valued at $100,000, by default your coverage B- other structures would be $10,000. If for example, you built a new shed in the back, and determined that you needed $12,000 in coverage instead of $10,000, you can always increase your coverage amount.
